I am a 73 year old totally disabled Gray from Florida, living in Australia; with poor and declining health and fear I don't have much time left. Before I die I want to find the death and burial site of my great great grandfather, James W. Gray. Born around 1823 in Wilkinson, Georgia; made his home in White Springs, Florida; was married 2 Jan. 1849 to Sara Ann Calhoun and upon her death to her sister Mary Jane Calhoun 14 Dec 1851, Wilkes, Georgia; Children were Caroline Aurelia Carrie 1849, Eliza I. 1853, Susan W. 1854,John William 1856,Sara A. 1858, James G. 1860, Sally L. 1865, George Lewelyen 1867,Martha A. 1876, Elizabeth 1868, David G.1879; In American Civil War he was a Sergeant, 27th Ga. Inf. , a 2nd Lieut. 27th Ga. Inf. and possibly a Capt.; he has a son, John W. Gray, buried in Elim Baptist Cemetery, McAlpin, Florida. Any help will be greatly appreciated. jamesmgray@bigpond.com. Phone 61 07 3801 3400 (Australia)
