You are correct that my great-grandfather was a son of William M. Martin, Sr; and; that William, Jr had a brother, Elisha Austin, for whom my grandfather was named.

The spouse of Laurette Ellen Aden is a DIFFERENT William M. Martin.

We are still drawing blanks as to which MS county Caroline was born (15-JUL-1841) to parents (?) of GA. No clues as to names of siblings, either.

The first recorded date of being in TX is the 1880 Census for Bosque County; no record found as to 1871 marriage to William. There is speculation that this might have been a second marriage for both. For Caroline, the name of MEADOWS appears on the DC of son John Quincy; the name of HENDERSON on the DC of daughter Beulah (Fagala); the DC of son William Thomas references Caroline Penelope (whereas, her Nancy Smith headstone is inscribed "Pelepin").

One researcher found a Penelope Caroline Taylor in the MS Census records -- but nothing to verify "one-in-the-same".
