Three Half Brothers - Galaviz -
I have been trying for years to find three half brothers that were removed from my mother and adopted. I too was removed two years after the oldest of the three brothers were born. Below is all the information I have about the boys, their mother and father. I know they could have recieved new names but they were old enough when the adoption took place to understand their birth names. I have a picture of the three brothers sitting on the front porch of their house a couple of months before the State of Georgia removed them. All I know about their adoption is they were taken by the Gordon County Sheriff's Department to a location in Atlanta that had several Nuns working. I have checked with the Atlanta Catholic Church and they have not found any information for me. Our mother Eunice always said they were adopted by a military couple and moved out west to New Mexico or Arizona. I cannot verify that is true.
All three brothers were born in Rock Springs, Sweetwater County, Wyoming.
Father Name:
Joseph Galaviz Junior b: 30 Sept 1917 d: 13 Apr 1957
I have the death certificate for Joseph Galaviz. He was involved in a car accident and remained in a coma from November 1956 until his death in 1957. The death certificate indicates he was born in Mammoth, Juab County, Utah to a Joseph Galaviz Senior and Guadalupe Arrelano.
Mother Name:
Eunice Mae "June" Sheriff b: 1928 d: 1993
Eunice is our mother. Her and Joe never married even though she listed herself as his wife on the death certificate of Joseph Galaviz. She was born in Gordon County Georgia and died in the same county.
Brother's Information:
Joseph Dale Galaviz b: 17 Apr 1954
Terry Eugene Galaviz b: 1955
Kenneth Rober Galaviz b: 1956
Their birth dates are based on notes I have found from their biological mother and other relatives.
These three brothers also have two half sisters. One is still living in Gordon County. The other half sister, Judy, died from cancer in 1988. Shirley (our half sister) and I stay in constant contact and have wanted to meet the brothers every since I met Eunice and Shirley in 1988, which is when I recieved my adoption paperwork. My biological name was Jimmy Wayne Fuller but was changed by my adoptive parents.
Thanks for any information
Mark
