Looking for a connection to Burriss/Burress/Burrows and Walker families.
Mary Burriss(?) Walker was born October 14, 1797 in Elbert County Georgia. She stated on one census that her parents were from Tennessee. She married Samuel T Elder and they had children:
George B Elder;
Lee Elder;
Samuel T Elder, Jr.;
Burrissa Elder;
James Walker Elder;
William G Elder; and
Jackson Elder.
They eventually wound up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
We have been working on this line for over 30 years and have never been able to find any information about her ancestral family.
