Bernice, after looking at the census images, I'm positive that this is my gg-aunt's family. Georgia's parents were Asa Chandler and Lydia Stallings. One of her brothers was Asberry M.(Moses) Chandler. Her grandparents were Lindsey Chandler and Matilda Sewell. Mahuldy's name was really Matilda Jane Chandler, it seems that Mahuldy was a nickname or just the name the census taker wrote down. I found R. L. and Georgia Brown's son, Asa Brown 29 shoe salesman, living on Highlands Ave. Rome, Floyd County, GA on the 1930 census newly married to a Sara K. age 22. His middle inital was written as an "H" but pretty sure this is he. Still not sure of the one daughter's name whether it was Lizzie or Lillie or it may even have been Lydia/Liddie, if so, then she would have been named after her g-grandmother, Lydia "Liddie" Stallings Chandler. I would say the Georgia C. (Chandler?) Brown who died in 1932 in Floyd Co. would be she, as I know that my Georgia died Dec 30, 1932. The Matilda Chandler who married R. G. (Robert G.) Bentley, was the daughter of Elzea W. Chandler and Elizabeth Johnson. Grand daughter of Richard Chandler/Charity Parks. Sela Chandler who married William Bentley was the daughter of Hiram Bennett Chandler and Frances Marion Holloway. Grand daughter of Ambrose P. Chandler and Jerusha White, and great grand daughter of Richard Chandler/Charity Parks. Georgia Savannah Chandler was also a great grand daughter of Richard Chandler/Charity Parks, through their son Lindsey Chandler/Lydia Stallings. Melissa Chandler who married Joseph Jackson, I'm not sure who she was. Notify Administrator about this message?
