Mary Ann MACON was born in 1825 in Upson County Georgia to Pleasant Macon and Nancy Gray....Mary was a descendant of the famous North Carolina senator, Nathaniel Macon. Mary married David J jOHNSON, b abt 1812, North Carolina. they married in Feb 6, 1842, Macon County Georgia.........they had the children in Coosa county alabama....Mary Ann and the children came to Texas, I dont think the husband came with them. He must have died before 1880. Last I am able to locate Mary Ann, was in 1880 US CENSUS, Mc Colloch County TEXAS, living as a widow at age 54 with her children, the census says May A Johnson, not Mary, But I am 100% sure this is my Mary Ann Johnson, it is her children that she is with. Family stories say she lived in NORTH CROCKETT COUNTY, TOM GREEN COUNTY TX AS WELL AS MC COLLOCH COUNTY. I just want to know when she died and where she is buried. There are several researchers that state she die din Texas, some even say Denton, but dont provide any proof that it is indeed MARY ANN MACON JOHNSON....I do feel she probably did die in TEXAS, but do want to know where and when........the name is so common, there are hundreds, maybe thousands, please would anyone know? I have other family info if needed but so far it hasnt helped to lead me to her.
thanks
