Hawkins Family VA/SC/GA/AL

I am looking for any information on Dennis Hawkins, who according to the census was born in Georgia (1794) and was in Jefferson County, Alabama by 1830. In the 1850 Census he is shown in Blount County, Alabama. He died there in 1884 at the ripe old age of 89.

It is suspected Dennis' father came from Virginia to South Carolina and then to Georgia. According to the census information, his father was born in Virginia and his mother in South Carolina. Who were they? Dennis lived very near Williamson and Samuel Hawkins in Jefferson Co., Alabama. How were they related? It is also said Dennis is a brother to Nathaniel Hawkins who later moved from GA to St. Clair Co., AL.

Dennis Hawkins married 1st to Elizabeth Campbell Jan. 4, 1830 in Jefferson Co., AL. They had children: Edward b. abt. 1831, William b. abt. 1834 & Julie Ann b. abt 1835. On Sept. 23, 1842 he married 2nd to Mary McDonald Causey (daughter of William & Frances McDonald) in Blount Co., AL. What happened to Elizabeth? Did she die, divorce? Was that really the first marriage for Dennis? He would have been 36 years old then.

Dennis and Mary had children:
Daniel Young Hawkins b.1843 d.1916 in Lawrence Co., AL(my gg grandfather)
Mary Elizabeth b.1846
Uriah b. abt 1848 What happened to him?
Dennis Henison b. 1850
Martha b. abt 1854

I would appreciate any information on this family and if you have any pictures of these people I would really love to see them. I will share what I have.

Carol
