I am looking for The parents of Sidney Howard She and S.J. Wells were probably married in Florida.On the death certificate of their son S.J.WELLS it lists her birth place as Georgia. It lists Samuel Jackson Wells Sr. birth place as Va. Georgia was scratched out. Samuel Jackson Wells Sr. died some time after he wrote his will in 1892. Sidney Howard Wells died in 1929. She died about thirty years after her husband. Samuel Jackson Wells Sr. is said to have been born in Ala. also according to Census records of Putnam County Florida. From other Census records I can establish that Samuel Jackson Wells had a Brother named James Ervin Wells. This fact is derived from county records stating that Randall Wells is a Nephew of the Samuel Jackson Wells. Randall Wells was the son of James Erwin Wells and Minnie Hinson Wells. It is also my belief that Samuel Jackson Wells also hade a sister Named Nancy Elizabeth Wells. I derived this information from Census records of Putnam County stating that Sidney Wells widow of Samuel Jackson Wells was living with her Nephew Henry Columbus Ragin. Henry Columbus Ragin was the son of John Henry Ragin and Nancy Elizabeth Wells. I have further info that supports that James Erwin Wells and Nancy Elizabeth Wells were Brother and Sister. The death certificate of James Erwin states that his Mother was Jane Wilson and the death certificate of Nancy Elizabeth Ragin says her Mother was jane Abrams. It is also interesting to note that James Erwin wells is said to have been born in florida in 1852 and Nancy Elizabeth Wells born in Florida in 1853. James Erwin Wells married Sarah Ellen Ragin the Sister of John Henry Ragin. These suttle clues led me to the conclusion that the three are brothers and sister. Also there was listed on the 1880 Census of putnam County Florida a Jane Wells whom was 65 years of age. I believe this to be the mother of Samuel Jackson Wells, James Erwin Wells, Nancy Elizabeth Wells and the son listed with her on the 1880 Census Jacob Wells. James Erwin Wells death cert says his father was E. Wells. I believe that Samuel was born around 1842 in either Va., Ga., or Al. and he moved with family to Florida around 1850. This Jane wells buys land in 1879 in putnam county and a witness to her is A Jacob wells probably her son. Another witness is John Henry Ragin. If any one has any info of these families it would be much appreciated.
