James B. & William C. HORN, WILKINSON CO., GA
Posted by: Sandra Farmer Date: April 07, 1998 at 08:55:05

I am looking for information on James B. Horn and William Curtis
Horn. Both served in Co.I, 3rd Inf. Reg. of WILKINSON COUNTY
known as the "CARSWELL GUARDS" during the civil war. I suspect
that they may be brothers. I already have some info on James B.,
but have not yet found his parents or siblings.

I have the following on James B. He was born around 1832 and
was killed in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania July 2, 1863. He was
married to Mary J. or Mary Ann (b. OCt. 1835-d.aft 1870). They
had the following children: James or Jane b. 1852, Augustus A. or
Delilah Augustann b. 1854, Elijah b. 1856, John b. 1858, and
Mary b. 1862. All the children were born in Wilkinson Co.

Mary later moved to Twiggs Co. where she filed for a civil war
pension. I have no other information on William C. except that
he enlisted in the confederate army on August 21, 1861. He was
captured in Culpeper County, Virginia on December 13, 1863 and
took the oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. and was furnished
transportation to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania March 15, 1864.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to
share what I have.

Thanks,
Sandra Horne Farmer
