Robert Grierson - from Scotland to Georgia

Robert Grierson was born about 1740 in Scotland. He had three brothers, James, Thomas and William. Robert came to Georgia and married Sin-o-gee, a Creek Indian Woman. Their daughter, Sarah is my ancestor. She married Stephen Hawkins between 1790-1796.

I have seen on the internet that Sir Robert Grierson of Lag was my Robert Grierson's father, but the dates do not match. Sir Robert died about 1733 and Robert was born about 1740(?) and died about 1816-1817. Could someone please tell me where I could find the correct information to make a connection back to Scotland? I would be so grateful.

If anyone is interested, I would like to share my information on the Hawkins and Grierson descendants.
