ALLEN GREEN HAMILTON OR GREEN ALLEN HAMILTON OR ALEXANDER GREEN ALLEN HAMILTON, AKA "GREEN" ------------------------------------------------------------ I'm looking for information about Green Hamilton and his family in Troup Co, Haralson Co, Carroll Co and Hall Co GA. In 1922, Green Hamilton died at age 77 while a boarder living at 800 East Williams in LaGrange GA. He is buried at Hill View Annex, LaGrange, GA. (If you can tell me where this cemetery is in LaGrange, please let me know). In 1920 he was boarding with John A.Bagwell and his family in Tallapoosa, Haralson Co Ga. In 1910 he was living alone on Bremen Road in Haralson County and working as a Trader in Stock. He was widowed for the 2d time. In 1900 he was living in Carroll County with his wife Hulda. Hulda (maiden name unknown) was born June 1874. In 1870 he was living in Hall Co Ga with his wife Hannah and one daughter Polonia C age 1 year. This is the only record I have found of Polonia so she may have died as a child. Green made his living by farming. IN the 1860s, he was in the Civil War. Green was captured at Bentonville, NC in March 1865 and released June 1865 at Hart's Island,in New York Harbor. In 1860 he was age 14, living in Hall County near Gainesville, Ga with his parents, Ellison and Agnes Hamilton of SC and his 11 brothers and sisters. IN 1850 he was living with his family in Anderson Co SC. I do not know what happened to all members of this, my large family. I do know some of the siblings went to Arkansas. One sister of Green's - Rebecca "Jane" Moore Hamilton(whose husband Joseph was killed in the Civil War) moved from Hall Co to Carroll County. She lived with Andy and Joan Sailors somewhere near Five Notches Road/County Line District and died probably after 1910. If you have any information at all or can suggest where I might look for traces of Green and his family, please let me know. Notify Administrator about this message?
