My gggrandfather, Joseph E. LEWIS had some kind of association with the DEALs, because in a court record from Leake Co., MS,in the 1870s, which I believe had to do with a probate dispute, Amanda DEAL is among those who signed along with him. Before Joseph E. and his wife Sarah(RUSHING) moved to Leake Co., MS, they appear in the 1860 census for Webster Co., GA, and I believe I saw some DEALs listed near them. They had a son named John *Alexander* LEWIS, (my ggrandfather)b. in GA 1842. Do you recognize any of these names to offer a clue as to the relationship?
