Thomas Barron, Samuel B. Barron-Georgia
I've posted this a few times in the past, but, will do so again. I descend from TWO lines of Barrons, both of which were in the Greene, Hancock, and Wilkes Counties area of Georgia in the late 1700's and earlyn 1800's. My father's line descends from Captain William Barron and Prudence Davis through William Barron-Martha Smith and James Barron-Sarah H. Martin. My mother's line descends from Samuel B. Barron who married Phoebe Barber. Samuel B's father is supposedly a Thomas Barron who married Sarah Sally Clay, but, I have no documentation of this. A couple of unanswered questions that I've hit a brick wall answering are:
1. Is the Thomas Barron who married Sarah Sally Clay the Thomas Barron who was from Edgecombe County, North Carolina?
2. If these two Thomas Barron's are the same man, is he the Thomas Barron who was paying taxes in Greene County, Georgia in 1785?
I know that my two lines have to connect somewhere back in Georgia, but, I've been unable to prove it. My ggg grandfather, Samuel B. Barron was born in Georgia in 1808 and died in Nacogdoches County, Texas in 1896. My gg grandfather on my father's side, James Barron, was born in 1791 in Wilkes County, Georgia and died in 1856 in Meriwether County.
Any information or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Joe Barron
