A great grand uncle William H Hughs(. 3-25-1836, d. 2-15-1874) is buried in Shelby Co, TX, There is an inscription on the tombstone - Georgia Pvt., Co. 1, 27 Regiment, GA. Inf. C.S.A.
His brother, my great grandfather Eli David Hughs spent time in Marion Co but joined CSA from AL.
Does anyone recognize the GA Regiment and know if it came from Marion Co?
