1850-60 Marion Co GA census discrepancy

I have noted in a census discrepancy that may cause a problem for those trying to locate Everinghams that lived in Marion County, Georgia.

The 1850 Marion County, Georgia census lists the household of Thomas Everingham, age 48. Others in the household include Martha A. (42), Elizabeth (9), Isabel (6),Harriet (1 month). The same individuals plus additional children appear on the 1860 Marian County, Georgia census; however, the enumerator has listed them as Everingtons. I discovered this while vainly attempting to locate the parents of a Minerva Everingham born on July 16, 1852 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia. It seems very likely that Minerva is connected to this family, but so far I haven't figured it out.
