We must have corresponded in the past, but I cannot recall on which name.
Presume you know that MCKINEY MELTON'S succession was opened 1840 in Marion County. Understand Trish-Elliot has a copy of it and I am sure you know her.
PHILIP BAILEY b. 1760-1769, my 4th grandfather's succuession was opened in Marion County in 1839, a year before MCKINNEY.
PHILIP and MCKINEY were both in Twiggs and Houston County, Ga. and where PHILIP lived was ceded to Macon County and he is listed as an early pioneer there. I have not found MCKINEY in Macon, but he probably ended up there as well.
MARTHA AUGUSTUS MELTON married QUINCEY P. BAILEY b. 1830
in Houston County, Ga. who was killed in the war and they migrated to Winn Parish with BRYANT BAILEY, QUINCEY'S father and BERRIEN F. BAILEY his brother arriving ca. 1857 on the same wagon train with the MELTONS. BRYANT is son of PHILIP.
PHILIP was apparently married to ELISABETH who is 84 and living alone in the 1850 Marion Census next to DAVID DUNN who was the second Administrator of PHILIP'S estate. ELIZABETH apparently died right after the 1850 census.
I believe there is a BAILEY/DUNN connection and that she is either a DUNN or DAVID'S wife SUSANA is a BAILEY.
Do you have anything on DUNN/
