I think we may be connected and would love to share info. My Bryans first show up in Houston Co., GA, then move to Schley Co.- Marion Co., GA. area. Needham Bryan b c 1800-1805, NC, married Eliza Singleton, b Dec 22, 1819, Houston Co., GA. They married in Houston Co., GA on June 21, 1838 and Eliza is the daughter if Biggers Singleton of Houston Co. They appear in the 1850 census of Houston Co., Ga. In some of the Houston Co., GA history books, the land west of the Ocmulgee River was Indian land and was opened with land lottery drawings in 1821 and 1827. Some just crossed from one side of the river to the other.

I have been to Tazwell and did she the old home place in 1976 when it was barely standing and have been researching the Bryans for years and can go back any further than 1800-1805. Marie Mackey married to Lennon Mackey did a sketch of the house and seperate kitchen. There were many Needham Bryans and research gets very confusing prior to this knowledge. Several relatives are researching and it is an on going project.
My mother is 76 and still remembers her aunts and uncles. I'm think a have a photo of J.N. Bryan's grave at the Singleton/Cartright Cem. Please let me know asap if this is the same family. Does anyone have any other info?
I live about 125 miles away, but my husband hunts in that area. My grandfather "Jim" moved to Worth Co., GA around 1910 and is buried at Hickory Springs Church in Tift Co., GA with his wife Janie Elizabeth Young..
