Is there a Winter's Creek in Madison County, GA?

My Thompson ancestors owned land on Beaverdam Creek in the area where the Madison, Oglethorpe, and Clarke County lines join. I found a record in Madison County dated 1827 where 350 acres was surveyed for John Thompson on the "waters of Winter's Creek" and in 1833 another survey was done for 350 acres for William Thompson with the same location. I have never seen a reference to this creek before in any old records I have examined and I am wondering if this might be the same as Beaverdam Creek in Oglethorpe County. I found in the History of Winterville, Ga. that three Winter brothers settled in what is now Winterville which was named for them but the history says they did not arrive there until around 1840. Can someone help me out?
