I have recently been posting burial information and tombstone photographs from Davine Campbell's cemetery survey (with her permission) for the Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Macon County, GA to the FindaGrave.com web site.
In case you are not aware, FindaGrave.com is a web site dedicated to covering all the cemeteries in the US and some in foreign lands. The web site allows people to post at no charge information on burials, such as birth and death dates and locations, parents and spouse names, tombstone photos as well as photos of the individual and other pertinent family history information. It is becoming a great way to document and share our ancestors' history.
For those people buried in Mount Zion that I am related to, I have tried to post all the above information as well as linkages to their parents, spouse(s) and children burial postings on FindaGrave. For me that has amounted to about 67 people buried at Mount Zion.
But Davine Campbell's work includes many more than my 67 ancestors. In fact there are about 267 additional people for which I only have whatever information there was on their tombstones.
I would like to find other people interested in their family history who have ancestors among the 267 people for whom I have only very limited data. If there is such an interest, I would like to transfer any of the 267 postings to people who have additional information and interest in posting their ancestors' family history.
You can visit the FindaGrave web site for the Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery at the following web site:
Then either type in a family name to see anyone buried with that name or simply click on the "view all interments" to go through all those buried at Mount Zion.
If you have an interest in adding additional information to any posting simply click on "make a suggestion" and you can send me a note on FindaGrave with your comments. Also you can register to be a member of FindaGrave at no cost and then I could transfer any of the 267 postings that need additional data to you so that you could add the information directly.
I hope some of you have an interest in adding information to your ancestors' listings. Please ask me any questions you have.
