Hello All. I am very interested in the history and family names related to the town of Marshallville. First families there, growth, are there records of the first settlers or stories related to same? My husband's maternal lineage is LACEY~BOLAN and closely connected to SKIPPER and other's. I do have a good bit of information on the LACEY lineage, but not as related to Marshallville, per se. They did come there from AL, but I would like to know more about when the LACEY's and BOLAN's arrived, and 'why's' (always whys!).
Our LACEY lineage is: Phil(e)mon Lacey, Sr-Phil(e)mon Lacey, Jr.- Joseph F. Lacey-Egbert Madison Lacey & Frances Elizabeth DEASON-Lucile Lacey m. Marshall Vinson BOLAN. BOLAN lineage is from Robert Bolan, of AL. to M.V. Bolan who married Lucile Lacey and moved to Macon County, GA from AL. Many of this family are in the Marshallville City Cemetery including NELSON's who are from AL and married into the Lacey lineage (or vice versa!).
I would love to hear from anyone now living there in Marshallville, or knowing 'the old stories' of the town!
(Also any information on the COLLIER line that came to Macon County/Taylor County from AL. Lineage is: James Collier(maybe) to-Robert Collier& Parthenia Browning-Thomas Newton Collier & Mary Arlitha Padgett-Archibald Samuel Collier & Berta Lee Barfield-Harvey Samuel Collier & Ruby Lee Bolan.)
