Still looking for ANY information on this Stepp family in Lumpkin County, GA. These are my brickwalls. Thank you.
Looking for any information on Suffrona ( Patton) STEPP listed in the 1880 Lumpkin County census as age 29, widow, born in Georgia. Also listed are her children:
James Stepp, age 21, ( son ?) born TN.
Mary Stepp, age 8, daughter, born TN
William Stepp, age 6, son, born TN.
Adaline Stepp, age 2, daughter, born SC or Ga
Barbary PATTON, age 61, mother, widow, born SC.
I know that Suffrona's (Sofrona's) maiden name was Patton and her parents names were William and Barbary Patton. I need to know the name of her husband, where he was from, and when he died. Sofrona Stepp had a sister named Lydia PATTON who married a James M. Rider, was widowed, then married a man named Albercrombie. They lived in Lumpkin County also. Any help in finding out who Sofrona's husband was and more on this family would be greatly appreciated.
