Pat,
I love your handle seeing that George Fields, Cherokee Indian, was married to Sandall Helton. She later married George Stills.

I hope you have all of that linage on Thomas Peter Helton and then some. Our line of Peter Helton filed his Rev. War Pension out of Carroll Co. GA. Some say he lived to be 105 yrs old. We have his and brother Abraham Heltons Rev. War records. Thomas was his fathers name and sounds like you have a combination of the two names.

We have a lot of information on the Helton Family Gen Forum, but have not posted the Rev. War records of these men because of the length of the materials. It is great to hear from the Helton's in this section of the country and you probably have a huge missing piece of genealogy for us. I would really like for you to find a Helton to swab for a DNA test. I think that there would be lots of cousins down that way in Carroll Co. GA. Send your records to rchoutmin@hughes.net and I promise they will be much appreciated. IF we can help you with any of the information we have please let us know.

Mike
