Yes, William Glenn Spencer was a minister, builder, and fought on both sides during the Civil War. He built many bldgs. in Porter Springs area.
You mentioned in one of your posts about a book called Deaths, Murders and Lynchings etc. Do you know if one could buy this book? There is a story about a Elizabeth Spencer drowning in creek and had brother Wm Spencer and mentions old Mrs Spencer who was not able to walk. I am thinking this Elizabeth may be wife of a Cain. Believe they lived near Porter Springs. I would like to know more about this article. Thanks again. Ellen at
