I am researching Trammell's in Georgia and Alabama. I think perhaps Orry Bowler listed as marrying William Trammell in Lincoln County, Georgia may belong to my husbands Trammell connections in Dale County, Alabama. My husbands gg grandmother was Nancy Jane Trammell and I have not placed her with her parents yet. There are many Trammell's in Dale County, Alabama-among them is Dawson Trammell, whose father was William Trammell. Dawson and his father were both born in Georgia. This particular William Trammell is found in the 1850 census for Santa Rosa County, Florida with 3 sons 15 and under and 1 daughter who is 12 years old in 1850. There is no wife present. The only two William Trammell marriages in Georgia which fit are both in 1825-one for Elizabeth Baugh and the other for Orry Bowler. Researching Elizabeth Baugh further shows she and her husband both dying in Floyd County, Georgia in the 1880's, so that leaves Orry Bowler. William Trammell's 12 year old daughter is listed as Nancy J. which could very well be our Nancy Jane Trammell. Any more information is very welcome as I am working on a history for my husbands Dale County, Alabama folks.
