I think it is curious that there is a gorup of the Malalrd family in Duplin County NC in the mid to late 1700's with another group located in Liberty county from about 1770 on. I have not found a link between the two families as of yet. The Duplin County Mallards had members that moved into Middle Tennessee in the 1800's.
