SOLOMON JONES, b. VA, 1760, lived in Liberty Co, GA. Applied for a pension as a Rev. Sol. and musician. “That he enlisted in the Rev. War in VA in Continental Services, 1776. Andrew Getle, recruiting Sgt., brought there to Savannah, GA; served under Capt. Andrew McIntosh; returned to VA; re-enlisted in NC in Co. of Militia came to Charleston on 9 months tour. Re-enlisted with Col. William Washington; served as trumpet major in Col. Washington’s Dragoons. Discharged at end of Rev. War at High Hills of Santee. Was in Battles of Eutaw Spring and Cowpens; horse shot from under him in the first and wounded in second. Wife, living 1826 b. 1772. One dgtr in SC; one son in MS (filed in records of Bryan Co., GA, May 25, 1826.
