Josselyn is mentioned several times around 1885-1900 in "Sweetland of Liberty", a History of Liberty County, by Robert Long Groover. There was a Post Office (Mrs. K.A. Williams, PM), Naval Stores (R. W. Hammond), Saw Mill (C.E. Wells), Carpenter (Thomas Dutton), Blacksmith (J.A. Howard), and General Store (R.W. Hammond).
