Kaye,
I live in Lee County and have the History of Lee County Book. There are two references to Goodroes in it. They are Agnes Goodroe and Mr. F. Goodroe. Both are picture references, one a picture of the 9th grade class of Smithville HS, 1910 and the other is a picture of a house located in Smithville built by a Mr. F. Goodroe. It was built in the 1800s and only Longs have ever lived in it. It is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Long. Let me know if I can assist you further.
