I have a family member who drew land in the 1827 Land Lottery in Lee Co, GA. Luanzie Shartles (Shattles) drew land in Swearingen's District, Lot No. 84, District 15. She drew as an illegitimate and was approximately 3-4 years of age at the time of the drawing. I assume she would have had to have a guardian to sign for her. Is there any way to tract the land record's history of ownership for that particular piece of property? Who do I write and what should I ask for?
