Statewide registration of births and deaths began in 1919.

1935 Orange Cty Fla state census
Edge, John ;1043 Hampton;, age 39,, born Ga; porter
Beulah, 40 wife
Mary Lee, 17, dau born Ga
Clarence 9, son Fla
John 6, Fla

1945 Orange Cty Fla state census
1020 So Parramon
Edge, John; 49; Ga; 5th grade education Truck driver
Buelah, 59 Ga; 4th grad education
John Jr, 17, Fla; 8th grad ed. laborer
Florence R; 19 Fla 8th grade; waitress

There was a John Henry Edge who registered for the WWI draft in Laurens Cty; Dexter GA; Dob May 2, 1890; married with 2 children. Also one in Worth County; born Jan 29, 1896 born in Rentz GA. This one may will be yours. If I remember correctly Rentz is in Laurens; occuption is listed as butcher.

Herman, son, jan 1898 2
Melton, son, April 1900 l/12

In 1910 they are in Cadwell; Laurens Cty, but the ages are off. There John H is listed as 15, and brother Marshall as 13 and herman 9 amd Milton 7
