Edward T. Keen - Parents needed

I am searching for the parents and any siblings of Edward T. Keen. He was born about 1875/1877 and it is believed he was born in Laurens County.

He married Helen Twitty in December 1903. She was the daughter of Peter S. Twitty d. 1901 (Methodist minister) and he is buried in Dublin.

Their marriage was quite the social event and near controversy. They were written about in the Atlanta Constitution on December 2, 1903 including both of their photographs. Helen was quite the popular debutante of Dublin. I have to believe there is more information on them as a married couple as well as about Edward Keen given the notoriety of their marriage and the substantial photographs published in the Atlanta Constitution.

The announcement in the Atlanta Constitution stated that Edward (he was referred to as "Ed T." in the article) was the bookeeper for the wholesale grocery firm of Brandon and Dreyer in Dublin.

They had two sons, Edward T., Jr. and Harold M. Keen (my grandfather) and later moved to Homassassa Springs, Florida where he died from malaria. Helen and her sons returned to Georgia in 1911.

Any information on parents or siblings of Edward T. Keen is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to email me directly at

Thank you,
Harriette Keen Jacobs
