Hi, I'm looking for information on Jeptha P. HILL b abt 1777 in Monroe, Walton Co, GA. I would particularly like to find out info about his sibs, parents and other ancestors (as well as more about Jeptha himself).
On 27 March 1810, Jeptha married Temperance Chapman, of Baldwin Co, GA. (It appears as though the CHAPMANS may have moved to Jones Co, GA, or perhaps they lived in a part of Baldwin Co that later became Jones Co. However, I've hit a brick wall with Temperance and don't know anything about her parents or other ancestors. Would appreciate any info you have!)
Jeptha seems to have owned some land in Jones County (it may have come to him via the CHAPMAN family). The land was originally a land lot in District 10. It was passed on to Jeptha in 1812 and from Jeptha to someone else in 1826:
1812 D-335 Robert G Crittenden to Jeptha Hill 202.5ac
1826 N-227 Jeptha Hill to Isaac Moreland
Jeptha and Temperance had 10 children: James Hamilton (b 13 Sept 1819), Dred (b abt 1821), Elizabeth (a abt 1823), Emily (b abt 1823), John G. (b abt 1827), Louisa (b abt 1829), Mary (b abt 1831), Sarah (b abt 1833), Susan (b abt 1835), and William (b abt 1837).
Any info you can give me about Jeptha, Temperance, and their ancestors would be most appreciated!
