Brantley help?

Hello, I am a granddaughter of Brantleys on my maternal side. My grandfather was James Woodrow Brantley, born most likely in Johson County around 1915, not sure at all on his birthdate, died in the late 80's. His parents were Lucian James Brantley and Bessie Beatrice Brantley (cousins perhaps?). Lucian's parents were John Brantley and Donie Roberts. Bessie's parents were Lucian Brantley (isn't it wonderful havig multiples of the same name and no dates? ;-)) and Mary Bedgood. My grandpa said that Bessie's father and Lucian's father were brothers, but one family tree an aunt has proclaims that not only were the man and wife, but half siblings as well. Yes, we are a Southern family, but I hope we aren't THAT Southern... ;-) Anyway, and help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Debi Moseley
