How is this Joseph MARSHALL related to your family? I also wonder if there is a relationship to my DANIEL Family.

From the March 8, 1852 issue of the Washington County, GA newspaper:

"Jefferson County - James L. DANIEL, files letters of adm. on the estate of Joseph MARSHALL, deceased."

James L. DANIEL (1813-c1860) is the younger brother of my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. (1809-1865) of Jefferson County, GA.

Is there a relationship between the MARSHALL Family and this DANIEL family?

I know that James L. DANIEL was married before 1850 to an "Ann" whose last name we do not know. We also know that this Ann was related to both a PERRY and a HADDEN/HADDON but we do not know the extent of this relationship.
James was married, first, to a Mary MURPHEY, daughter or Rev. Nicholas MURPHEY, and she must have died before 1850. Their daughter, Nancy C. DANIEL would marry Tim DONOVAN, brother of William DONOVAN of Jefferson County, GA.

The TARVER and WISE Families from in and around Jefferson County, GA were very closely related to this DANIEL Family, which was of what we would now call the "privledged class." Yes, their family did own slaves, lots of them.
