Taxes Digests for Jefferson County 1796 thru 1844 at approx. 2 year intervals (1799 and 1802 are included) have been abtracted and published by Daniel Nathan Crampton in 2003. His book "Jefferson County, GA and Some Surrrounding Areas..Land Records Vol. 1 Mid 1700-mid 1800s" can be obtained from LDS Film Library for a small fee. FHL US/CAN Film [6007522]. You can oder online and view at your local LDS Family Center. It has land maps as well some other item of historial value. There is a wealth of information on the inhabits of Jefferson County.
