I just came across someone's research regarding Joseph Marshall and the Daniel Family

There is a land grant in old Dobbs County (Lenoir County), NC that mentions land formerly owned by Joseph Marshall (don't know if it is the same person or not) that Richard Caswell granted to someone. Can't find the link now, but will let you know if I do.
