Andrea,
I'm sure our ancestors' lines connect in the early 1800's in Jasper County. Three of my g-g-g grandparents children (Cordial Daniel Jeffries, Melissa Jeffries, and Esther Jeffries) married three of John Spears, grandson of William Spears, children (Sarah Josephine, William, and Columbus Augustus Spears). The Thomas Jeffries' plantation touched John Spears plantation not far from Shiloh Baptist Church between Newborn and Mansfield on the Jasper County side of the county line. Later (about 1870) one of my g-g grandfather's sons moved his family to Dale County, Alabama, where he and his family lived for about the last 30 years of his life also. I have been in touch with two of his descendents, within the last few years and they and some other relatives still live in nearby Dothan, Alabama. Robert Jeffries (rjffres@charter.net)
