Ross,
At Deed Book 3, Pages 2-4, Randolph County, Ga. now Jasper County, GA records is a deed from George Ray of Clarke County, Ga. to Samuel Ray of Clarke County, Ga for $300 being Land Lot 222 in the 16th Land District, consisting of 202.5 acres, of then Randolph, Ga now Jasper County, Ga.

The Deed was dated 5/31/1809, signed in Clarke County, Ga and recorded in Randolph County on 7/26/1810.
This land was drawn by George Pay in the Land Lottery.
Witnesses were: Reuben Hill, Nathaniel Williams and Samuel Jackson.

Note: 12/10/1812 the Georgia Legislature changed the name of Randolph County to Jasper County because of John Randolph's of Virginia, County's name sake, opposition to the War of 1812.

Hope this helps! John Bruno
