Gilbert Shaw of Jasper County, Georgia was killed by a tornado on February 2, 1842. The tornado could have happened in Shady Dale. My understanding is an old newspaper clipping about the death of Gilbert Shaw has been found by Jasper County researchers. I would love to know the contents of this article.
Gilbert Shaw was married to Mary (Polly) Davidson. Polly was the sister of John Davidson, R.S. -- also from Jasper County.
