Hi Tom,

Do you know if this William H. is the son of Joseph White?

Found this posted to:

JASPER COUNTY GA Ordinary Court - Minute Book A - (misc entries) pg 45, 66, pg 83, 98-99, 182, 220

File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by "Osiris Johnson" <osiris@aloha.net>

Thomas B. White and William H. White, heirs
of Joseph White decd being of lawful age to choose
their own guardian came into court and made
choice of Simeon Durham for their guardian.
It is therefore ordered that the said Simeon Durham
be and he is hereby appointed guardian of the
persons and property of Thomas B. White and
William H. White, and Jacob McClendon, Stephen
Mobley and Jack Barley came into court and
jointly bound themselves in the sum of twenty
four thousand dollars for his due performance of
said trust.

I am trying to determine why Simeon Durham was chosen as guardian.

Joan
