I bought a set of books from a used bookstore titled "Pioneers of Wiregrass, Georgia" by Folks Huxford vols 1 through 7. All of these books have the name & signature of James W Whitley in them. Many have news clippings placed in them. One has a program titled "17th Annual Reunion, Pioneer Families of Irwin County" and dated 29 Aug, 1954. It is a tribute to James Whitley, President Emeritus and Veteran Ordinary of Irwin County. There is a picture of Mr Whitley on the front cover of this program. Mr Whitley appears to be about 70 yr old in the picture which means he would have been born about 1885.
Anyone heard of this man?
