Hello,

The following is information that I have gleaned entirely from Internet "sources." This couple are not my ancestors, though I am also a descendant of the same White family. For the Burden family, pleasse be a little sceptical of its acuracy since I have not checked any of it. The White family can be considdered fairly accurate, but it would naturally be a good idea to double check for yourself.

Ancestors of Anna Burden:

Archibald Burden Sr m. Hannah Goad
they had a son...
William Burden m. Clary (Clarissa?) Shepperd
they were the parents of Anna Burden

Ancestors of Martin White:

George White Sr. m Blanka _____
their son
George White Jr m. Margaret _____
their son
John White m. unknown

(All of the above persons were of Nansemond Co., VA. All of the folowing were of Edgecombe NC. It was the Luke White family - mainly his children, who moved to the Elbert Co/Hart Co area)

his son
George White Sr. m. Mary _____
their son
John White m. Ann ____
their son
Luke White m. Mary (widow of Thomas Mewborn)
their son was Martin White

As for the maiden names of the White wives, they are not known to me, but a clue may be in the fact that there were several descendants of the family named Martin and several others named Nelson. There was also certainly a Nelson family living in Edgecombe at the same time as the Whites.

As I said, all of this information was gathered from the Web, and mostly from Genforum. If you need to get more info about these families, it is probably already online on this very site.
