Hello Margaret,

I saw your Post about Tinsley Powell and the McMullan Families, William Powell and Sarah Riddle, and William Riddle Powell and Sarah Lawrence.

Gr.Gr. Grandfather fits into one of these Families, his name is Lewis Riddle Powell born 1792,Orange or Culpeper Co. Virginia, and he has a brother Pressly Powell born 1787.

A lot of these Powells went to Elbert, Hart, and Wilkes Co. Ga., and I am looking for a Francis Powell SR., parents born and lived in Orange Co. Va., John and Ann Pickett. This Francis was born in Orange Co. Va. 1750, married a Sarah ? and moved to Elbert Co. Ga. in 1789, and had some land deals with some people in Elbert Co. Ga. around 1811-1815, and witnesses are Lewis R. Powell, and Francis M. Powell. I am in hopes that we can find a Deed or a Will for this Francis Powell Sr., but so far we have not found anything by requests from the court houses, so we are at a brick wall. It was wonderful to hear that you
are there where these records are.

I was in hopes that we could trade info, and maybe come up with the answer to my 2 situations.

I am thanking you in advance for any help you can lend, and will share all I have collected. Please contact me at:

Thank you for your attention,
Pat Powell, Springer
