GA Death Certificate No. 15321 shows that William Handy Herring died on 27 May 1922 in Hart Co., GA of diabetes mellitus with chronic intestitial nephritis. His age was shown as 61 years, 2 mos. and 5 days, birthdate 22 May 1861 in SC. Occupation Farmer. Father Jessie Herring, born in SC, and mother Millie Whitworth, born in SC. The informant on the death certificate was Francis Willis, Rt. 5, Hartwell, GA. The physician was Dr. B. C. Teasley. He was buried on 28 May 1922 in the Shoal Creek cemetery. This is obviously the same person shown in the census as William F. Herring and who was the father of Dora Herring, wife of Francis Willis.
