You should definately email Dale Nichols, who has worked on all these families for years. His email is dalegnichols@worldnet.att.net. He's out of town for a few days, but will be back on Sunday.
His direct line is the Partain's from Elbert County, GA, but I'm about 99.9% sure that the Partain's in Hart Co. are related to them. Actually I'm 100% sure, but I just can't find definate proof of it.
Dale recently received the Pension records for Henry H. Partain from Hart Co. Would your mom know about him? He died around 1908-1909 or so I think, and he was a farmer in Hart Co. He would have been in his 70's when he died, and he had been crippled when he was shot in the leg in Fredricksburg, VA in the Civil War. He also apparently broke his shoulder and hip, so he would have probably walked with a cane I think. Your mom was probably born around the year he died, but maybe she heard family stories about him? That would be great! :)
