I saw your response on GenForum indicating that you had access to a history of Harris County, GA. Maybe you could help me. My ggrandfather Rev. John W. Baker was married in Harris County a second time to an Elizabeth J. Baker (name unchanged by marriage according to my records) after my ggrandmother Catherine H. Funderburk's death. They were living in Tallapoosa County, AL at the time of her death, Sept 12, l860. Indications are that after the marriage they returned to Tallapoosa County. My assumption is that Elizabeth J. Baker was a former acquaintance, perhaps a cousin or sister-in-law, since her name was unchanged by marriage. My ggrandfather was born in 1821 in SC, and Elizabeth was born in 1843 (place unknown), so she was considerably younger than he. Would you please research the history of Harris County to see if there is any reference to the Bakers in Harris County during that period? Your help would be appreciated.
