My great great great grandmother Delphia Greenleaf was born in Africa in 1790 and sometime between 1790 and 1812 she arrived in the United States, because she had a son in Georgia, James Greenleaf in 1813 city or county unknown.
She was listed in Hamilton, Harris County, GA on the 1870 census and she was 80 years old.
So I am assuming that is were she probably died. I looked on Mortality Schedules and she was not listed.
Can you find out any additional information on her existence.

Where can I find/locate a marriage license in 1879.
My great great grandfather George Thornton b1853 and great great grandmother Corrie Thornton b1864 (Maiden Name Unknown) were married in 1879 according to the 1900 Cataula, Harris County, Georgia Census. How were marriage ceremonies performed in these days.

Sincerely,

Valyncia
