Yes. This was the home of Elizabeth Ware Blanton, widow of William Blanton of Kershaw SC. We call them the Kershaw Blantons. DNA testing has shown them to be unrelated through the male line to our Tidewater Blanton.

There is a lot of information on them posted on the Harris County USGenWeb site by Gray Blanton, who has since passed away.

Paula Marcus has done a lot of research on the family and the ferry they operated. You can contact her at DAYMARC(AT)aol.com, where (AT) is replaced by the usual email symbol.

They are a very interesting family. One of the daughters was captured by Indians in Texas and managed to escape. Another was in the Meir Expedition, captured by the Mexicans and died in Mexico. Another was one of the first building contractors in Houston TX.
