I'm looking for the Simeon S. or L. Smith that had guardianship for a time of the children of Thomas and Elizabeth Maynard following Thomas' death in 1837 in Troup or Muscogee Georgia, per court records and another researcher. He had to file accountings of some sort in Troup in regard to the children.

While there are lots of Smiths, your Simeon is the only Simeon that fits. Also, Elizabeth's eldest daughter was living in Mulberry Cove (Hamilton area) in 1850 with her husband William Blake, and in 1860 the widowed Elizabeth Maynard was with her new husband, John Brazell(Brassill, brazel, etc..) in Mulberry Cove, Harris County, Georgia.

It seems likely that Simeon was related to my Elizabeth Unkown Maynard Brazell. Do you know anything about Simeon's wife's Perry family?

Any help would be appreciated,

Jimmie West
