Col. John White, Harris Co., GA

I'm researching my Thomas White family of Elbert, Jones, Coweta, and surrounding counties in GA, and I ran across this Death Abstract from The Columbus Enquirer in 1852. Does anyone know anything about this person?

The Columbus Enquirer
Oct. 19, 1852
Col. John White, age 67, former State Legislator, Harris County, GA. Died Sept. 26, 1852

Any help or clues as to who this man was and who might have been his parents, I'd be forever grateful. If the age is correct, then Col. John White would have been born about 1785.
